Oh, look! Alex is ready to start the day. What is she going to get up to? She has a shovel in hand, so I think she's able to dig up something fun!
You can find all sorts of things when you dig a tunnel. It just takes a bit of time. What's going to turn up for Alex?
Down she digs. Oh, what's this? She's come across a cooked cod in the dirt. That morsel will make for a good snack. Digging is hard work!
Alex goes back to ground level and makes a fire for her fish. It is cooked, but she wants it to be hot and crispy when she has a break for lunch.
Back down into the hole. Is Alex hoping to find some more fish, or is she after a shiny jewel?
A cat spots the fish and bats it out of the fire. Alex cannot tell that a wild beast is about to gobble up her snack.
The nimble cat crouches low and gobbles the fish in total silence. Not a single scrap is left on the grass. The cat licks its lips and looks so pleased with itself.
Now the nimble cat is off to see what else it can find. Will Alex think that her fish just vanished in a puff of smoke?
Alex has dug so deep! She will need to cover up the hole when she is done so that someone does not stumble in while they are out for a walk.
Oh, she's found something at last! Alex sets down her shovel and grabs a pickaxe to chip at a red sparkle. It does not look like a fish. It almost looks like some⦠oh no!
Quick, Alex! Scramble up the dirt blocks and get out of that hole! The whole thing is about to be blown sky high!
Boom! The blast rattles loose a whole bundle of cooked cod that was buried down there! It seems like Alex is in for a feast after all!
