Jill came in looking awful. Her armour was cracked. 'A scary trap,' she said. 'I used every golden carrot just to stay alive.' Dr Can Do dug in the chest and held out the last carrots. The chest sat empty. Golden carrots took so long to grow.

Jill's donkey was eating grass by the gate. Dr Can Do climbed into the saddle. For a moment he almost fell, then sat up straight. The donkey plodded off. 'Quick trip,' said Dr Can Do. 'Grab cactus, soup for dinner. Nothing can stop us.'

The cactus was giant! Thick green blocks stood over him. The needles were as long as fingers. Even the donkey backed away. 'It can't be that bad,' said Dr Can Do, reaching out a hand. Ouch! 'Yes. Yes it can.'
